From New Year’s Day

We went to eat our first brunch of the year at Apple Wood in Park Slope. We have been there for dinner a few times and noticed and liked their logo, but never got to take pictures because it was dark out.

and here it is – I like the woodcut print looking apple. Very nice. Always catches my eye.

Another Beer Table sign that caught my eye:

For New Year’s Day dinner, Randy and I always eat Sushi or Japanese New Year food (if we could) and we went to Sakura Cafe in Park Slope this year to celebrate our bright new year and it was perfect!

and one of the beers Randy had called “Ginga Kogen Beer” (imported beer from Japan) was not only a very good beer, but also a great designed beer.

It was a bit too dark at the restaurant, but here’s a better photo – yes, it’s in blue bottle!

I thought it was really nice.

From New Year’s Day. Inspirations were everywhere.

Happy first Friday of the year and have a great first weekend of the year, everyone! I’ll be back with my letterpress studio visit on Monday!

Bloomsberry & Co. Think Chocolate

Randy got me this chocolate from Bloomsberry & Co. and I love the packaging!

I like what it says on the box, too.

“Peace on earth. May this chocolate bring you peace (and quiet) these Holidays, if only for a moment.”

(it did, thank you.)

and how cute is this wrapping paper inside the box!

and after going to their website, I found out that they have all sorts of fun chocolates and their website is really fun to look around, too.

and more on their website. I like how fun they are and each packaging is different and designed well. Chocolate always makes me happy so this is a double treat for me!

1 year ago today, December 29th, we moved to New York. It’s been exactly a year living in the city. I feel like I am officially settled…

Lettermix by UPPERCASE

This is of course already sold out, but UPPERCASE had a cool vintage wood type blocks pack called lettermix — I love the package design, too. Very nice.

I ordered something from UPPERCASE recently and it is sitting in the post office right now so I have to go get it (don’t you hate that?) but I will share about it here when I get it because I know it’s great to talk about! They have so many great products all designed so well… I can have each single one of them! Check out their collections made by UPPERCASE.
