Exhibition: Paul Sietsema

A while ago, when I went to MoMA, I saw this great exhibition of Paul Sietsema. I just found some photos sitting on my desktop waiting to be posted so I am finally getting around to it… but I was blown away with his amazing work.

Always love typography on museum wall. I wanna paint my wall with types, too…

so when you look at this, you think he made this art by using the newspaper… but this newspaper, one letter by one letter, was drawn by Paul! I couldn’t believe it.

*Tried to take a close-up picture so you can see the letters are all drawn in, but it is a bit blurry… oops. but it is definitely done by hand. Great lettering.

I also love the neon pink paint can stain or some sort.

and yes, this is a drawing, too. Amazing.

More about the exhibition here.

oh and we tried to go into Tim Burton’s exhibition, but it was sold out for the day. Yes, they are limiting the numbers of people. Next time for sure. Saw this giant sculpture of his, though :)

and I loved the Alice in Wonderland! Have you seen it yet? :)

Anthropologie Best in Show

Anthropologie in Rockefeller Center in NY has not only the coolest window display, but also the cutest gallery space inside. Last week, I stopped by there with my old friend who I hadn’t seen for 13 years (!) and we saw this great exhibition that is going on right now called “Best in Show” — I tool some photos and here they are! Enjoy!

Look at this awesome poodle made out of the lace paper. Love the texture and the vintage feel, so lovely.

and these guys were made out of all sorts of papers. How creative!

A patchwork dachshund :)

This fox was made out of shredded papers and plastic forks.

Cute creature… all cozy :)

There are more in the gallery, if you have a chance, please stop by and meet all the animals.

Let’s have another creative week, shall we?! :)

Tim Burton Exhibition

I just saw MoMA posting this picture on their twitter saying that they started the installation of the Tim Burton exhibition!!! I can’t wait!!! He is so inspiring in so many ways, I’ve been a big fan, I can’t wait to see everything.

It starts on November 22nd and it goes on until April 26th next year so if you are planning a trip to New York, you should definitely stop by MoMA. And if you are in New York, you know where it is :)

Six by Six Gallery

Attention all artists and creators! The founders of Charmingwall (oh how I love their website…) will open a new original-art gallery on October 1st… with your art!! (If you participate, that is)

“Each month, Six by Six Gallery will exhibit hundreds of original works of art – every single one of them on a six-inch square canvas. This small and consistent size allows the gallery to show the works of a large and diverse group of artists each and every month. It also allows collectors the opportunity to curate their own selection of artwork at an identical size that will look great when hung together.”

To participate, all you have to do is to purchase an Artist Submission Package at www.6x6gallery.com, create your original art on the canvas and submit!

I think this is a great opportunity for anyone, everyone who has a passion and vision (yes, ANYONE can do it), I am thinking of participating so if you are interested, please let me know!

Happy Friday!!
