Halloween 2009

Unlike last year, I got to enjoy a whole day and night of Halloween this year! As you’ve seen Maia’s witch costume, it was fun to walk around with her — she was the most popular dog on the street!

Went to 7th Avenue Halloween Parade in Park Slope for a start. It was the safest and the most wholesome Halloween parade I’ve ever been to :) Filled with lots of kids and parents, it was fun.

and then, I went to Manhattan with my friends — it was crazy just as I imagined.

In front of Webster Hall. No way we could have gotten in… It was raining so the picture came out moody and I like it.

How was your Halloween?!

Flea Design Co-op

Continue reporting from last Saturday’s Brooklyn Flea… it was the launch day for the Flea Design Co-op! It is curated by Lena Corwin, featuring top Brooklyn artists in design, painting and printing, ceramics, letterpress, and more — it was worth checking out!

The limited-edition poster designed by Wayne Pate:

Wayne Pate posters and mini prints — the mini prints were letterpressed! I had to grab some… I love his work.

There were more from Lotta Jansdotter, Marcie McGoldrick, Sesame Letterpress, and of course Lena Corwin, but I couldn’t take all the pictures, I was busy shopping around :) (and lots of people were there, too so.)

The design co-op is at Fort Greene every Saturday now on (through they close for the winter time) so if you have a chance, stop by! :)

Street Trash Can

On 8th Avenue, Park Slope Brooklyn, there is this cool designed trash can and bench/table — every time I walk by there, it catches my eye and makes me look…

Isn’t it cool? It’s like inside of a museum, but really, it’s just on a street :) I had to post about it…! Happy Wednesday morning, everyone.

Autumn Color Week: Orange

Yesterday was another great color inspired day (it was green) over at Autumn Color week flickr pool and poppytalk…. today is ORANGE.

I went to my letterpress studio yesterday and snapped a few shots along the way… so here they are. Brooklyn is huge and each area has different vibe just like Manhattan (I love that.) — I didn’t see much nature in the neighborhood, but hey, you can get inspired by these things on the street, too…

(do you see a little heart?)

Lots of brick buildings… I like brick buildings… (I actually take photos of different brick walls and use it for textures sometimes.)

and… something orange that I see… every. day. all. day….

Maia’s basketball! She loves that ball, she plays with it all day long, she brings it to the bed and sleep with it every night. ((Repeat))

We are actually inspired by this basketball of hers and making something for her for Halloween… Will share that here for sure! :)

Yes, orange is a Halloween color… have you guys been thinking about it yet?!
