Today’s Bridge 10.5.11

Today was a beautiful fall day! (It’d been rainy here in NY) We took a walk around our neighborhood, stopped by Brooklyn Bridge park and saw both of the bridges standing all nice and tall as usual.

Going to a nice dinner with Randy one last time :) Have a great evening, everyone!

Jane’s Carousel

Jane’s Carousel has been opened to the public since September 16th in Brooklyn Bridge Park and I finally walked by there last weekend — I LOVE that new area!

The Carousel is housed in an extraordinary new pavilion, designed by Pritzker-prize winning architect Jean Nouvel.

Jane’s Carousel is a completely restored historic Carousel, a gift of Jane and David Walentas.  Built in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, the carousel was purchased in 1984 and painstakingly restored to its original condition.

Can’t wait to take our little daughter here very soon! :)

DUMBO Arts Festival 2011 Brooklyn Bridge Park

Here are some DUMBO Arts Festival photos from the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Love this silver and gold balloon letters (too bad the wind was making the letters really tilted…) that read “Love You Forever.”

Big art made out of tree branches…

Some of the rocks had pretty stripe covers on them.

A white structural sculpture

Big red object — kids were loving it!

Today’s Bridge 6.20.11

I went to Brooklyn Bridge park with Maia — I just love this park.

There were a bride and a groom doing a photoshoot (can you see them?) — they seem so happy :)
