Forgetting Sarah Marshall

We went to see the Iron Man, but it was all sold out (we should have known better) and so we watched “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” instead. It was funny, sexual, cute… just like what you think this movie would be like. Nice to see Hawaii on the screen, too!

(I realized that we hadn’t been to a movie theater since Maia came in February! We came home to a mess, of course…)

Vexille

We went to watch “Vexille” – I was hoping to watch it in Japanese with English subtitles, but it was dubbed in English so it was a little turn off for me at first, but the animation was awesome (it has the manga feel and style, but it’s in 3D!) and I like robots and futuristic stuff so I liked it. Music was done by Paul Oakenfold, Prodigy, M.I.A., DJ Shadow etc. it was cool.

Juno

I *finally* watched it. I’ve only heard good things about this movie and yes, it was very sweet and funny. All the actors were good, too. Cut Chemist as a science teacher was a nice touch.

Cloverfield

We went to see “Cloverfield” with our friends who also wanted to see the movie – Recommended for those who like monster/kaiju movies (i.e. Randy.) Not recommended for those who are hungover (i.e. me), drinking, or pregnant (I don’t know, but maybe not). I was thinking when to go to bathroom and throw up the whole time. (I didn’t, though, thankfully.) It’s pretty crazy with the camera move and I thought it was just me, but our friends were saying the same after the movie so it wasn’t just me!

The funny thing is that we saw “I Am Legend” a week before we saw Cloverfield and both movies are in NYC and the city gets destroyed like crazy. Just when we moved to NYC, the first 2 movies we see is that. Funny.
