In-Flight Toys From ANA

We flew with ANA from JFK to Narita, Haneda to Takamatsu both ways, total of 4 flights and look what they gave Mili :) She actually got the same wooden airplane twice so we gave one to her cousin. Unfortunately, both wooden airplane and the apple toy say not to put it in mouth so I couldn’t give neither of them to Mili since all she does is to put everything in her mouth… but it’ll be a good souvenir. The book has two stories — when you open from the top it’ll be a story about pilot’s day and when you open from the bottom, it’ll be a story about flight-attendant’s day. She liked it :)

As for the flight… we had a bassinet that hangs from the wall, but Mili only used it for like 1 hour out of 13-14 hours both ways… (sigh) Above is the picture within that 1 hour of usage… (left is on the way there, right is on the way back — she slept here for like 10 min it was a miracle)

On our way back though, she could sit all by herself so it was easy for her (and us!) to sit here and play around. Still she preferred being held by me, though…

Just glad everything went okay and that it’s over for a while!

Happy Girl’s Day!

Happy Girl’s Day to those of you who are celebrating! It’s Mili’s first girl’s day… we don’t have proper hina dolls yet, but my best friend sent us a hina dolls greeting card! It opens up like the picture above it’s so cute :) Thank you, Naoko!

March 3rd is Japanese Girl’s Day called hina-matsuri. It’s a celebration for Japanese girls, and Japanese Boy’s Day is May 5th in Japan. People display a set of hina dolls and props in the house, wishing girls’ healthy growth and happiness. Traditionally, parents or grand parents of a newborn girl buy a set of gorgeous hina dolls unless they have special dolls, which are inherited from generation to generation. Hina dolls are dressed in Japanese ancient costumes and are displayed on the shelves of a stand covered with a red carpet usually from the end of February to March 3rd.

This week was filled with love and happiness; we had our 5th wedding anniversary and I had my birthday :) We went to the New York aquarium on Sunday, Mili loved her first experience there and some of the photos are from my birthday.

Wishing you a very happy weekend!!

Hand Knit Baby Cardigan by chibi.

Mili received (still receiving) oh-so many gifts and we are so very grateful. For the baby/kids Wednesday, I wanted to share something special she received… a handmade gift! My friend Yuki from chibi. hand knitted the cutest dachshund cardigan for her and I’ve been wanting to post it forever! I especially love the 3D dachshund ear and of course the loong body :)

Still has lots of rooms to grow, can’t wait for her to grow in!! Thank you so much, Yuki-chan!
