Wood Type in the Digital Age

Last night, I was able to attend a great talk entitled “Wood Type in the Digital Age” by Nick Sherman at the Type Directors Club. As you may know, I work with wood type a lot so once I saw the title and who’s giving a talk, I was there already.

These images are from Nick’s Intercut wood typeface project, it was so great to see the process, behind the scene, his thoughts…

So glad I went!! I was so inspired to do more work with wood type and do something different, too!!

Inspiration: Britex Ad

While my mind is in the Hyatt Regency room, I wanted to share this print ad for the Britex Fabrics. I was just flipping through a magazine (or it could have been the hotel information thing… I forget) that was in the room and it just caught my attention. I love the black and white patterns with mustard yellow background.

Quilt Card Set by Krank Press

Came across this beautiful Quilt Card Set by Krank Press on Etsy. Via this treasury, actually. (Thank you for including my work, too!)

Each card is letterpress printed with 5 colors! That is a lot of work and it shows for sure — they are so gorgeous! Love each pattern, too, I just wanna decorate these on my wall…

Shoegazing

I love my UPPERCASE magazine since the very first issue, but especially the #6! My feet are featured! I know, it sounds funny, but for the “shoegazing” section :) I mentioned about it before, but when I heard the news from lovely Janine, I was so excited and here it is, all published!

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend subscribing, it is one of the best design magazines I’ve ever subscribed! :)
