Crave on 42nd

For our Valentine’s Day celebration, Randy and I went to Crave on 42nd — a new restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen featuring Dave Martin from Top Chef season one. We watched the show, and of course we wondered how the food tastes like in reality. And so when we found out about this restaurant and they had a Valentine’s day 4 course dinner, we were both like “Let’s do it!”

When we walked in, we saw Dave right away, walking around the floor and then, as we were seated, I realized that there was Lee Anne (also from Top Chef) eating with 3 other ladies. It’s so funny to see them in person, we felt like we knew them by watching the show…

Anyway. The food was SO SO GOOD!!! Everything was good, so much flavors, so perfectly cooked, it was the best meal I had in a long time! We were stuffed, though, by that time we finished the desert, but it was all worth it!

They gave me a box of chocolate and a flower at the end, too. Oh, and when we were leaving, Dave was right there, so I said “Thank you! It was soo good!” and he was putting his hand around his heart and “ohhhh, thank you!!” like it meant a lot to him — he was so sweet.

Dinner at Sala

I had a dinner with my friend from San Francisco, Mizue, at this Spanish restaurant called Sala last night. The food was gooood and it’s just so nice to see girl friends and not only to catch up with each other, but for me to get more NY information on a lot of (girly) things like hair salons and shoppings was so fun. She’s the one who gave me her sewing machine when she left San Francisco and I am very thankful for that. Now, we are in the same city again which is very exciting.

Picture is seafood paella. It was soooo good!

A Surprise Party

My friend Keiko asked me if I wanted to come have dinner and drink with her coworkers after work… I said YES! and went to Typhoon Lounge in East Village. I was told that they were sitting downstairs, so I asked the waitress when I got there and she asked me if I was here for a birthday party, but I was like “No, no, no. I don’t think so…” and there she was, sitting in a BIG table with her friends… it was her birthday party!! I never been to a birthday party not knowing it was a birthday party so I was pretty shocked! A surprise party for me! Happy Birthday, Keiko!! I met lots of people through her, too, that was fun!
