October Dachshund Parade

Monday can be hectic — hope these pictures will make you smile!

Last Saturday was a Dachshund parade (eveyone calls it a “parade” but it’s really a meet-up) at Washington Square Park and of course we went there with our Maia (almost 1 year old!) and our neighbor dachschunds, Hime and Koro and their owners. Since it’s October, there are lots of costumed ones, it was so funny!

So many people at the park. They all had dachshunds so you can imagine how many dachshunds were here…

This is Maia: she was wearing a pink bandana (so you know which is Maia from here on):

Hime:

Maia and Koro — it was so fun to walk around Park Slope together and take subway together with them!

A ladybug (lol):

A handsome cowboy:

More cowboys and a king(?):

A lobster — I love it:

A blondie (she was so funny):

A dachshund trail:

Brown red ones:

Wired Hair Dachshunds:

Maia also said hi to eveyone in the park:

You can see our first Dachshund parade in April from here. It happens twice a year!

Save Polaroid

I cruised by Brooklyn Flea last Sunday (ohhh my god, it was hot as hell!! I thought I did a farewell to Summer… spoke too soon) and I saw a “Save Polaroid” booth and to me, that was the most interesting booth at the market — I know that they announced that they will discontinue production of all instant film this year and I was sad to hear that, but seeing people actually doing something about it, I thought I wanted to do something, too! We must save Polaroid! You can go to “Take Action” page and find out what you can do… the Action Pack is actually really cool.

From the booth:

I purchased these Polaroid magnets… with the empty Polaroid film case packaging, I was sold.

and then, people at the booth gave me a “Polaroid Camera Girl” pin! I was so happy — Thank you!!

Brooklyn Indie Market

On Sunday, I stopped by Brooklyn Indie Market opening weekend to make up my Saturday nothing-ness. (It was pouring rain all day Saturday, the Art Parade I really wanted to go was cancelled, I also wanted to go to a few sample sales, meet up with friends for a drink, but every time I looked out the window, it was just Debbie Downer and I just couldn’t put myself in that rain…)

It is fairly small, but it’s happening every weekend, Saturday and Sunday and seeing the local designers’ work is always fun.

This neighborhood, Carroll Gardens Brooklyn is so cute to walk around and shop around, too!

Happy Labor Day!

Hope everyone is having a nice long weekend! I’m going to do something that I never done before (it was one of my assignments when I was in art school and since then, it’s always on my list of things to do) and I will come back tomorrow to report about it.

Yes, Maia is coming with us, too!
