Daily Drop Cap

An awesome typographer and illustrator, Jessica Hische started a Daily Drop Cap (oh, soo good) and it’s been my daily visit ever since.

Yesterday, she shared us a gif animation file that shows the steps in its creation — I love that! Thank you!!

((see her steps — she decided to take out all the flourishes because it wasn’t legible as an H.))

It is filled with gorgeous initials everyday!! ((swooooooon))

Street Wall Art in Brooklyn

In between my home and my letterpress studio, I see lots of cool street art, there are a few more things that I always see from the bus and wish I could get off the bus and just take pictures of, but I don’t want to wait around for another bus so haven’t been able to….

Anyway. Here are some.

Love the building, stars are just so awesome, and looks like a collage of things…

If you look closely, you see a rain drop pattern on the people’s body.

Cool spray painting. Tells lots of stories.

I like this one. I don’t know if it’s spray painting, it looks like it was a big sticker?!

Happy May 1st Friday, everyone!

Papercuts Letters

I’ve been a fan of papercutdiecut, it’s been always on my etsy favorites, but when I saw that they have cutout letters now, my jar dropped! HOW PRETTY!

I bought my letter H as soon as I saw it – can’t wait to receive it!

It is all cutout by hands!

sigh. so beautiful.

I wish my hands could do this! Check out more handmade cutout art work from papercutdiecut.

1 months later…

I forgot how much no time I have when working full-time.

Anyway. It’s been a month since Maia came and now that she is fully vaccinated, she can play with other dogs and she LOVES to play! She doesn’t like to be alone at all and it’s been such a challenging thing for both Maia and us… we were always coming home to a disaster every time we left her alone and this week, we both have a full-time job and I just couldn’t leave her alone for 8-10 hours so she is now going to a dog day care. She had a great time today and she is exhausted! I feel like a total mom now; wake up, take Maia outside, feed her breakfast, get ready, go to the daycare to drop her off, go to work, work away all day and then come pick her up, feed her dinner… How does all the mom in the world do this everyday?!

Sleepy Maia – she is lazy sometimes.

Just got out of her first bath at home:

Her day care center. It was raining so much today.
