Hi there! I hope you all had a great weekend… did you watch Super Bowl? Or Puppy Bowl? :)
Heartfish Blog has a new look now to go with the Heartfish Press website as you realized. Simpler and cleaner, has bigger images and I’ll be organizing contents more so it’ll be easier to find what you are looking for!
Anyways. My copy of the UPPERCASE issue 8 has arrived and guess what…? I received my own sampler (see everyone’s amazing pieces here)! What are the chances, right? I’m lucky that way, I guess… :) Well, someone else should enjoy this… so I have decided to give that one away here on my blog!
To enter, please leave a comment here and tell me your favorite love song by the end of the day Friday, February 11th and I will pick a winner on Monday, February 14th — on Valentine’s Day <3 All your tweets @heartfishpress and facebook mentions count, too :)
Good luck! xo Hijiri
LOVE the print. “love and happiness” by al green.
“Glory of Love” by Peter Cetera, from the Karate Kid part 2 soundtrack… loved this one since I was 8. :)
Lay, lady, lay by Bob Dylan.
I <3 <3
love ‘friday i’m in love’ by the cure…
True from Spandau Ballet was our song back in the 80s.
“They Were You” from the musical, “The Fantastics”
My favourite love song – Home by Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros – Hommmmeee is whenever I am with you!
Cheers!
Meagan
When my husband and I were first married, we were lying in bed one morning just staring at the ceiling when my husband started to hum “Never My Love” by The Association. I joined in after a few measures and before you know it, we were singing it together, harmony and all. Ever since then, that has kind of been “our song.”
I don’t know if I have a favorite love song, but if I did, it would be that song.
I love Buddy Holly by weezer
Modern Love done by David Bowie – I don’t know if it’s a “love song” per se, but … Bowie!
It’s kind of an odd one, but Bruce Springsteen’s ‘I’m on Fire’, covered by Tori Amos. It’s beautiful and haunting and you can sense the longing for someone so badly. I suppose it’s not your typical cheery love song… :)
Just when I think I’m a total cynic, I realize how many songs about love I do in fact, love. I’m gonna have to give a shoutout to Lykke Li’s “Little Bit,” my favorite Scandinavian pop interpretation of stubbornly falling for someone…
Can’t Help Falling In Love With You – Elvis Presley
Melts my heart every time I hear it. *Sigh*
i bought one of your prints and LOVE it! my all time favorite live song is “sweet thing” my van morrison.
one night when i was feeling well, my husband made up a little lullabye to help me get to sleep. it kind of follows the tune of a classic children’s lullabye but he changed the words. it’s so cheesy but that little song he sings once in a while is the sweetest love song to me.
I love “You Are the Love of My Life.” A friend sang it at my wedding and now she’s teaching me to play and sing it on my guitar–five years later. xx
i must admit, when it comes to love songs, my taste is super cheesy. i get made fun of {often} by my husband for the love songs i try to covertly buy on itunes ;)
one of my old faves is ‘glory of love’ by peter cetera, also known as the karate kid love song :)
“All you need is love” by The Beatles. Handsdown!
“The Luckiest” Ben Folds… It was our wedding song <3 beautiful work.
inspiring + beautiful work! “(if you’re wondering if i want you to) i want you to” by weezer :)
I have many, but the most romantic for me, is Everything I do, I do it for you – Bryan Adams.
and also: All I want from Xmas is you (from the movie actually love, that version rocks!!)
I hope I win!! I love you work and your blog :)
have a very lovely weekend!
“Personal Penguin” by Sandra Boynton and performed by Davy Jones (of the Monkees). We used this as our processional for our wedding last year. (you can find it at the bottom of this page: http://www.workman.com/boynton/)
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your entry! The giveaway is now closed. Come back on Monday for the winner announcement! :)
Ambulance – tv on the radio
I will be your accident if you will be my ambulance
