Send Real Letter Messages

This morning, I am very inspired by viaLetter… you can buy letters and create words to send / display around your home!

You can “type it and buy it” (love the interactive site! you should try just to see — it’s very cool.) Just type your message and order from there…

And I have “Happy Friday” letters!

You can also generate a word from their theme… and you can select from 3 different typefaces, too…

What a special and fun way to send your message :)

In Situ images are also very cool:

What would you send / order?! :)

Have a great weekend, everyone! I am going to check out MoMA later today, so excited!

NYC Map

I saw this room image over at simplygrove’s flickr photostream and I had to ask where this print/poster is from… she says “Ikea“!

and sure enough, I found it at Ikea website:

I think I will get one! Thank you, Kirsten!

*another great Ikea poster I saw over at To Be Inspired here… time to make a trip, I guess!

Much Love

Much Love by Ashley G. Inspired by a vintage heart doily… it is so calling me, I must answer…

Perfect for the black and white area for our house… It can go with these pillows, too…

Here is a red one. Few more colors are available and they all look so cute, I want to have them all if I could… :)

New: Love Themed Letterpress Alphabet Greeting Cards

Yesterday was my first day of printing in 2010! I must admit… I had missed it so much! So happy that I get to print again :)

Keep that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner (can you believe it?) in mind, I printed 4 more letterpress Alphabet Greeting cards — all LOVE themed! I really enjoyed printing them and here are some behind the scene photos…

I decided to print all in red, one of my favorite colors and the color of love…
Setting wood type blocks and the polymer plates 2 at a time:

Checking impressions and adjusting placements:

Put red ink and…

print away.

2nd set — setting wood type blocks and the plates in the same position from the 1st set, but since the letters are in different width, adjusting a little here…

and print them away.

2nd color — I hand-mixed nice chocolate brown :)

Adjusting the placements… very important…

looking good :)

printing printing printing!

and here are the final products:

V is for Valentine:

L is for LOVE:

(I wanna frame this one — all the alphabet card is frame-able in US standard 5×7 frame — FYI)

X is for XOXO:

Lots of nice wood type texture on letter X.

I is for I Heart You:

I hope you like them! :)

Found Type: Taking Coffee To the Street

Found type in Fukuoka, Japan. It was a cute coffee kiosk stand and this stenciled store signage/logo caught my eye.

Love the “O” being coffee “to go” cup… it is simple and instant communication.

Sweet Stuff

I loved everything about these Japanese sweets, plates, forks, placemats… I had to take pictures for my inspiration and hopefully your inspiration, too :) Love the patterns, colors… like I said, everything.

Aren’t they lovely?

(Tastes lovely, too. Thank you, Mom!)

Found Art: Haneda Airport

Good morning! Hope you had a nice weekend… I am still struggling from my horrible jet lag… :( Hopefully, by the end of the week, it’ll be all better and I live like a normal person… (not going to bed at 5-6pm and waking up super early.)

Anyway. I found this gigantic inflatable human body floating around at Haneda airport. It sure caught my eye — it was huge!

I want to know the concept behind this guy… if you happened to know the artist or the idea behind this, please let me know!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hanae Mori Omotesando Window

Apparently, I have taken more than 500 pictures while I was in Japan, you will be seeing lots of them for the next few weeks… :)

I saw this window display at Hanae Mori building in Omotesando, Tokyo and I had to stop and admire the beauty of Japanese samurai armor… how awesome!! I was drawn to them so much, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a samurai armor in a fashion window display before and it absolutely had a strong yet awesome presence… I enjoyed it very much. Here are some snapshots I took… I hope you enjoy, too!

The detail is great!
