We are leaving to Boston this evening… we’re going to see our friend Niq’s film exhibition as part of the Traveling Scholars show at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston tomorrow and of course to see our family. I never been to the museum so I am excited to get to see our friends and arts at the same time! And on our way home on Monday, I am picking up something special… I will be sharing the special thing soon, I am so super excited! I will be back on Tuesday…

I get lots of newsletters everyday from lots of different companies (well, don’t you?) and this one from Font Shop I received this week is simple yet striking and caught my eye. They always have different designs, but I like this one the most.

I especially like this little graphic that they use for headlines:

It gives nice dimention!

And nice to see all the different fonts, of course.

Last night, my print was featured on Etsy homepage! I enjoy their hand-picked items everyday, it’s always done by theme or by color, featuring all the great hand-made goods and so this was really an awesome thing to see!! Thank you so much!!

I came accorss this vintage Greyhound Bus Sign from Boston, Buffalo, Burlington… – so awesome! Love the type and white letters on black, I would buy this right now except it’s already sold out, of course.

I have been a fan of Sarah Gardner’s hand-lettering work, it’s so great. Her Flickr photostream is filled with great hand-lettering work, it is so inspiring to browse through them all and they really make me want to try some hand-lettering!

I’ve mentioned that I am renting a letterpress studio starting this month… it has been awesome! I am sharing this space with other talented people and this is the Vandercook Press I’m using.

Ben, who I share this press with, uses soy-based ink and it is 100% non-toxic space, I love it so much! Do you see a vegetable oil under the press? We clean the press with the oil.

The space is big, there are 2 Vandercook Presses and 1 C&P Press. This is our area:

Wood furnitures and such:

A guillotine cutter. This thing cuts papers like crazy! Very dangerous if you don’t know how to use it. The blade is so sharp that you don’t even feel it when your fingers get cut – always gives me goosebumps by just thinking about it!! I am VERY careful around this guy… :)

I am slowly getting my wood type collection together — meet my 10 line Gothic Bold types!

I used these to print my Live What You Love 5th edition… came out very nicely. I’m happy with these.

In letterpress world, it’s not 10 point, it’s 10 line. It’s not 10 inches, it’s 10 picas.

I just can’t get enough!! The textures are awesome.

As I mentioned, we were babysitting Hime the dachshund over the weekend and so I got to walk around the neighborhood with 2 dachshunds (I couldn’t get enough! They were so cute together!) and my camera, it was a lot warmer this weekend in NYC, I could see Spring finally. I found cool types just around the corner of my house so here are some to share.
