I had a little lunch meeting with Randy over at Chelsea Market yesterday and oh my god, the building was so special and I loved it there so much! I couldn’t help photographing the place…
From 15th Street and 9th Avenue corner:

Inside:

The whole building was so Industrial-chic:

With lots of arts:

lots of cool area:

and lots of shops!

(I like this very simple logo Ninth Street Espresso)

(milk bar the wall was filled with old milk boxes)

It used to be National Biscuit Company:

There are lots of cool typography/signage there, too:

It’s been a couple of weeks since LAMA store launched. I think it’s going so great so nice to see it on the press at few places including Daily Candy!
I also got to design a business card and a thank you card and here are the final products:

If you have a Bank of America card, you can go to selected Museums for free every first weekend of every month! The first weekend of August is coming up this weekend (god, time just flies so fast) so just thought I should mention it here. Unfortunately, I can’t take the advantage of it this weekend since we’ll be traveling to Boston and we’ll be down by the Cape Cod, laying around the beach… (smile)
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC is one of them — I have to make it there very soon…

I received the cutest “thank you” from Christine the owner of LAMA that I’ve been working on the brand designs for.
Very nice note with the thank you cards that I got to design for LAMA:

and a handmade dachshund by Alice Apple so cute!!:

Thank you, Christine!!
Also, Mika, the owner of Cream of the Crop that I got to help designing a website for, took me out to this great Italian restaurant, Bacaro in Lower East Side last week:

(Their business card is so cool the folded card in the picture) The restaurant was so cute and the food was oh so great.
Thank you, Mika!!
It’s really nice to see them happy with the work I did and receive such wonderful thank yous from my clients! Makes me happy so much. My clients always inspire me for sure so thank you!

I came across this awesome artist, illustrator, designer, Jeff Kulak this morning and out of all the great work he has up on his website, I especially loved his snow art he used a parkade as a blank canvas when it snowed and drew pictures. How awesome!

I guess this only lasted 2 hours:
He also has nice typography designs:

I like his illustration, too! Very inspiring.

I enjoy designing for computer desktop and I just designed one for my new R2-D6!
I have been so drawn to the color yellow this year so I knew it’s going to be yellow, and I used bunch of images that I photographed in New York.
I designed this for my laptop when I got it (I was inspired by the jellyfish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium):
I also did a desktop design for Levitated Recordings while ago:

I take a lot of photographs to incorporate them into my design it’s the most fun part!

It was time to upgrade my home computer after working on my 15 inch laptop all the time at home… and I am so happy to welcome my new powerful iMac R2-D6! (I know, it’s dorky, but my Mac has been always named after R2-D2; I had R2-D3, R2-D4, and I still have my R2-D5 the laptop)
I thought about a lot on which Mac I should get considering I need more power, speed and also a bigger monitor iMac was my perfect choice, it comes with everything for less money and it is so powerful now, too.
Being transfered:

and ohh this was so touching we were made for each other! I thought it was so cute and very personal.

I’m still working on it to fully function for me, but I love love it so far!

The River to River Festival is going on in NYC right now and they have cool free events almost everyday. Last week, we went to see Christian Fennesz and Ryuichi Sakamoto at the World Financial Center.
The stage the World Financial Center was a great building, you can see the water right outside, too:

Palm trees! I haven’t seen one since I left San Francisco!

There they were they did an album together called “Cendre” and they were performing from the album for the first time in US:

He then started playing the piano wow it was beautiful.

He was also playing the strings inside the piano:

Their music was very experimental, ambient, soothing, and it was great to see them play live for sure.
